General Summary
The Records Support Specialist position is responsible for obtaining information needed to adjudicate claims and leaves as well as provide other levels of support services to the claims/leave specialist. The incumbent will demonstrate a proven ability to produce high quality results in a fast-paced environment, while providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
This role has responsibilities for clients within Total Leave
Process medical records requests and fees associated with such requests
Make outbound telephone calls to follow-up on missing information from insurance companies, employers, claimants, and others as needed.
Make outbound telephone calls to follow-up on missing medical information from providers
Make outbound telephone calls to follow-up on missing Physician contact information from consumer if necessary
Update contacts within Fineos
Complete letters, e-mails and faxes requested by the TL Specialist/BS
Handle check/financial inquiries
Order closed files, policies, and contracts
General office duties including but not limited to: data entry, faxing, photocopying, and printing
Provide leadership with feedback on departmental areas of improvement
Separate authorizations and other pertinent documents as needed
Support a positive team environment
Promote positive customer service for Total Leave clients through prompt, accurate and courteous responses to customer needs
Develop and maintain partnerships and open communications with peers and managers
Take accountability for individual metrics based on departmental goals
Proficient in handling Total Leave product guidelines and adhering to policyholder requirements per Special Handling
May perform other duties as assigned

Job Specifications
High school education or equivalent
Knowledge of Unum products, processes, and workflow
Ability to work individually while working towards a team goal
Strong commitment to goals and is results oriented
Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task, with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling a large volume of work with a high degree of accuracy
Demonstrates initiative and is proactive
Strong written and verbal communication
Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting work schedule to meet business needs
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and strong PC skills preferred
Demonstrated technical knowledge
Experience with coding and working capability of systems, including but not limited to: Fineos, Special Handling, Account Processing Tool, Correspondence tool, Adobe E-sign, Microsoft Office, PACE, CME, Agreement, Magic, CAPS, Customax, Pallm, BEST, IRIMS

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$35,000.00-$54,000.00
Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
